Steve Keithley
Steve began hunting small game and deer hunting in Maryland in the early 1960’s with his dad. Steve and his wife Sunny married in 1978. They have two grown daughters, Sheri and Betsy and two grandchildren. Steve became President of Maryland Bowhunters Society, a position he held from 1995-1997. With an interest in measuring North American big game animals, Steve was certified as an Official Measurer for Boone and Crockett Club and Pope and Young Club during the mid ‘90’s. After retiring in 2006, Steve began aggressively bow hunting throughout North America harvesting many fine trophies. Recently, he was appointed by Governor Larry Hogan to the Maryland Wildlife Advisory Commission. A favorite quote of Steve’s by Fred Bear “If you’re not working to protect hunting, you're working to destroy it".
Beth Hill
Born and raised on the Eastern Shore, Ms. Hill grew up in her family’s sawmill. This early lifestyle contributed to her gaining a working knowledge of natural resource management. For over 20 years, she directly oversaw all timber procurement, land sales & acquisition, and property leases on the 5,000+ acres of land owned by the family across Delmarva.
After leaving the business several years ago, Beth discovered a newfound love for hunting. She became hooked after taking a 5-point sika stag on the final day of muzzleloader her first season. Since then, she's enjoyed turkey, rabbit, and waterfowl hunting, all with varied success. She believes that spending time outdoors has a healing quality and likes the camaraderie that hunting provides.
Beth currently serves as the Executive Director of The Maryland Forests Association and as a Land Advisor with The Land Group, a real estate firm that specializes in the sale of farm and woodland. She is involved locally in her community by serving as Vice-Chairperson of the Dorchester County Board of Zoning Appeals. She also holds positions on three Governor Appointed Boards- the Sustainable Forestry Council, the Maryland Agricultural Commission, and The Maryland Agricultural Land Preservation Board of Trustees. She is excited to be a part of Hunters of Maryland, a group that she knows is well equipped to advocate for the rights of hunters. Beth states, “that the group will also promote sustainable wildlife management practices that balance populations with what the land can support, limit crop damage, and curtail disease outbreaks all while ensuring a resource is available for future generations of sportsmen."
