The Founder of the Hunters of Maryland, LLC (Steve Keithley) received
national recognition at the Pope & Young annual convention in Glendale,
AZ on April 10, 2025. The prestigious Pope & Young Club Stewardship
Award -- award only bestowed every 2 years -- is given to a bowhunter or
bowhunting organization that by their actions has conveyed a positive,
good-citizen image to the hunting and non-hunting public.
The 2025 Pope and Young Convention was held at the Renaissance
Phoenix Glendale Hotel; Spa in Glendale, Arizona from April 9-12, 2025.
The 34th Biennial Convention was a gathering for bowhunters to celebrate
their passion and work together to preserve and promote bowhunting.
The attached picture shows Steve Keithely receiving this award from Doug
Clayton, P&Y Conservation Chair, on April 10th.
Such recognition was afforded Steve not only for a life time of
stewardship/conservation afield, inclusive of his long service to P&Y as an
officially designated scorer, but also b/c of his singular Leadership in
establishing the Hunters of Maryland, LLC, in 2020.
We, the Hunters of Maryland, LLC, are indeed fortunate to have Steve as
our Leader as we enter our 6th year as the Sportsmen’s Voice in Annapolis.
